Criteria for Success at Rio+20 Identified

Reaffirming the commitments from 20 years ago and strengthening international institutions for sustainable development are the key criteria for success at the U.N. Conference for Sustainable Development, according to Martin Khor, Executive Director of South Centre, an Intergovernmental policy think tank of developing countries.

He was interviewed prior to the start of the Conference, also known as Rio+20, by Sister Aine O’Connor, RSM, Mercy International Association’s representative to the Conference.

Mercy International Association is an organization of the leaders of congregations, institutes and federations of the Sisters of Mercy throughout the world. Based in Dublin, Ireland. One of its missions is to foster collaboration on works of social and environmental justice.
